Does iec holder require to file any document or return other than gst returns?
Hi. Yes, an Importer Exporter Code (IEC) holder is required to file certain documents and returns in addition to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns. The IEC holder may be required to file:
Annual Return of Importer Exporter Code (AR-IEC): This is an annual return that needs to be filed with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) by all IEC holders.
Advance Authorisation: If the IEC holder is engaged in import or export activities, he may be required to file an advance authorisation with the DGFT.
Letter of Credit (LC) or Bank Guarantee: Depending on the type of import or export activity, an IEC holder may be required to file a LC or bank guarantee with the bank.
Declaration under Foreign Trade Policy (FTP): IEC holders are also required to file a declaration under the Foreign Trade Policy with the DGFT.
Hope this helps!
